Instead of having a handful and feeling satisfied,
as I might with
unsalted almonds or cashews, I just want to keep eating salted
nuts.
So choose snacks that will sustain you, such
as fiber - rich cereal, a handful of
unsalted nuts or a piece of fresh fruit.
However, you want to make sure you buy raw, if possible,
unsalted / unseasoned
nuts and seeds
as some seasonings contain high amounts of salt, sugar, oil and even msg.
Have a small recess of fresh whole fruit and some
unsalted unroasted
nuts such
as almonds — not peanuts or cashews.
As always when making
nut butter, I like to start with raw,
unsalted nuts.
I wish one thing with this one and that is that you would picture raw, unfried,
unsalted nuts so
as to not encourage the use of frying, oil, and salt
as a standard.
If you are having
nuts as snack, choose
unsalted nuts, preferably raw or roasted.
For fats, look to mixed
unsalted nuts, peanut butter, olive or canola oil and avocados,
as well
as oily fish.
While a dog can eat a plain,
unsalted peanut or almond or two
as a snack, larger
nuts such
as walnuts and pecans are harder to digest and may lead to bowel obstruction.
