"unsanded" means that something has not been smoothed or polished using sandpaper.

I bought 1 gallon of June Day Behr paint (1 quart wouldn't have been enough because it took 3 coats to cover the dark finish) I turned it into chalk paint by adding a tablespoon of
unsanded grout mixed with a bit of water for every cup of paint I used.
