unto salvation» is carried «to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.»
These good works are not
unto salvation.
Our faith is also what Paul declared it to be, «the power of God
unto salvation to every one that believeth.»
When God elects a sinner to eternal life (many are called but few are chosen) light floods in and utterly destroys the darkness «for it the power of God
unto salvation to everyone who believes».
That is «repentance

unto salvation and not merely statements about this power.

Although Scripture is available to all and sufficient
unto salvation for those who read attentively, a proper hermeneutic is necessary so that private interpretations can be corrected and fresh stimulus gained for the ongoing theological task of the church.

While Scripture's overall intention is, indeed, to make us «wise

Paul plainly teaches that
salvation is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8 - 9), that it is available for those who believe, (Ephesians 1:13) and that believers are sealed
unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
Christ manifests the divine will by his obedience
unto death, which means by denouncing human passions and strivings, revealing in this way God's eternal thought concerning the
salvation of humankind.
