It is grotesque that Adriano Espaillat, who has made a great deal of noise as a defender of the rights of undocumented immigrants to the United States, was happy to take time out of his run for Congress in order to heap praise on an egregious, racist law with
untold human cost.
Petroleum and coal companies are allowed to sell their products which, when consumed, cause
untold trillions of dollars in
costs in
human health and environmental damage, and governments pay those
costs in the form of medical benefits, and eventually measures to deal with the effects of global climate change.
