We wish to reduce the population of unwanted cats by maintaining a spay and neuter program for feral and stray cats and by sheltering cats who no longer have people to care for them.

«There are still twice as many cats being admitted to shelters as dogs, and the fraction of those cats who are juvenile is also twice as high as for dogs, pointing to the continuing problem of unwanted litters.

Neuter / spay programs must be directed toward the main sources of unwanted animals; unowned / feral cats; unaltered cats allowed to roam and randomly mate; and, cats who are mated indiscriminately but purposefully (i.e. not a part of a recognized breeding program).

One thing that all these groups agree on is that the problem begins with irresponsible humans who neglect to sterilize their pets, and who abandon unwanted cats and dogs, kittens and puppies.
