When combining different types of cabinetry in the same room, keep lower cabinets darker and
upper cabinets light.

light Birdseye Maple with very nice leaf inlayed glass on
uppers.
Fewer
upper cabinets allow in more
light and views and help make spaces look larger.
They bought the most reasonble priced appliances, no
upper cabinets (my next kitchen will be like that), and Ikea for
lights, lower
cabinets, Ikea door handles for
cabinet handles (cheaper than true
cabinet handles) and watching Overstock.com for
lighting and deals on anything.
The removal of the
upper cabinets also creates plenty of
light on the counters and that is a big plus too!
My favorite parts are the dutch door and the walls with no
upper cabinets — letting all that
light come in.

lighted upper cabinets, curved range hood and a wolf range and just a couple key elements for a great kitchen.
So with the white
upper cabinets, white plank walls and white subway tile, essentially our kitchen work area feels quite
light and white, even with the gray
