Bentley's chassis engineers have also fitted stiffer suspension bushes for sharp, communicative handling and
uprated anti-roll bars to optimise the handling balance.

It gets lowered, stiffened suspension springs,
uprated anti-roll bars and upgraded passive dampers as standard, but it can be had with switchable «sport select» suspension as an option (which isn't «DCC» adaptive damping as such but instead describes dampers with two lots of compression and rebound settings that you can chop and change between electronically via the car's driving modes).
The chassis features a quicker steering rack,
uprated anti-roll bars, new Bilsteins, and stiffer bushings.
The BMW M5's magic was not just contained to the engine bay as the M Division also paid close attention to the chassis,
uprating the anti-roll bars, fitting Bilstein springs and dampers (until 1986) and fitting an LSD to contain the considerable rise in power the M5 had over its less illustrious siblings.
Not exact matches
All the bushes have been
uprated, as have the
anti-roll bars and strut braces, and there are Tarox brakes all round.
Again the specifics depend on the car of choice but, in general terms, lowering and stiffening the springs,
uprating the dampers and fitting firmer
anti-roll bars will improve your cornering capabilities.
The Springs, dampers and
anti-roll bars have been
uprated, but modifications go even deeper.
Handling was improved with
uprated springs, new Boge dampers (an electronically adjustable set - up would later be an option), thicker
anti-roll bars and an increased caster angle on the front suspension to improve stability and steering response.
Stephan Reil, head of development at quattro GmbH, explains that the set - up of the V10 is stiffer overall, with
uprated springs and dampers, a thicker rear
anti-roll bar and a rear limited - slip differential with a higher locking rating to cope with the increased torque.
For enthusiasts the big news was the introduction of the Zetec - S with a new 1.6 i 16v engine, stiffer
anti-roll bars and
uprated brakes.
The brakes have - thankfully - been upgraded, and it's been given a «handling kit» with
uprated springs, dampers and
anti-roll bars.
The chassis has also been
uprated compared with the Boxster's, and includes stiffer springs and dampers, bigger
anti-roll bars, 10 per cent quicker steering and — with the Sport chassis option specified for an additional # 1,133, as on our test car — a visually pleasing 20 mm drop in ride height.

The N400s 4.3 L V8 was tuned to produce 400 bhp (298 kW; 406 PS) hence the name, and the car also featured a sports pack which included lightweight graphite - finished wheels,
uprated springs and dampers and a new rear
anti-roll bar.
As well as the LSD, it had bespoke dampers, chunkier
anti-roll bars,
uprated Brembos, and Michelin Pilot Sport 2s in place of the Sport's Dunlop Sport Maxx TTs (or Conti SportContact5s if you specced the 19in wheels — a # 500 option).
To the rear, the stiffness of the programmed deflection torsion beam system has been
uprated by 25 %, and the
anti-roll bar increased in diameter from 10 to 30 mm.
The Defender Works V8 is also fitted with
uprated brakes, as well as improved springs, dampers and
anti-roll bars to enhance the handling, exclusive 18 - inch diamond - turned Sawtooth alloy wheels and beefy 265/65 R18 all - terrain tires to retain the rugged Defender's off - road prowess.
The rear suspension has been revised with a number of new parts developed specifically for the Focus ST. Key components are the
uprated suspension knuckles and an all - new
anti-roll bar design, both the result of the development team's desire to give drivers an outstanding amount of feedback and control.
Improved agility and body control is also achieved through
uprated spring and damper settings as well as thicker
anti-roll bars front and rear.
As a result, the car is fitted with track - oriented features including an adjustable front
anti-roll bar, Nitron adjustable dampers, Eibach coaxial coil springs and double wishbone suspension,
uprated brake pads, FIA approved carbon fiber race seat with six - point racing harness, a removable steering wheel and a polycarbonate rear windscreen.
These include six - pot Brembo callipers up - front, a limited slip differential, staggered 19 - inch wheels, a K - brace under the bonnet,
uprated chassis tuning including heavy duty front springs and an upsized rear
anti-roll bar.
The Competition package adds
uprated suspension, dampers and
anti-roll bars to further stiffen the car.
Meanwhile the car has been given a bespoke suspension setup featuring stiffer springs,
uprated adaptive dampers and beefier
anti-roll bars.
The F - Pace SVR gets other changes like
uprated spring and dampers, a new
anti-roll bar, new lightweight forged alloy wheels, while larger, lightweight brakes, a new active exhaust system and the active differential from the F - Type.
