The Defender definitely deserved better, so a 5.3 L pirated from a ’02 Chevy Trailblazer was fit with a throttle body from a ’98 Camaro (since the factory was a fly - by - wire) and standalone MSD Atomic LS EFI, and then it was set between the Defender's framerails on
custom urethane bushing - equipped motor mounts fabbed by Fortified Customs.
The Pro Comp kit includes a support bracket, complete with
a urethane bushing to accommodate suspension flex.
The torque arm bushing is tightened and torqued to 229 lb - ft to seat
the urethane bushings.
With all the parts in place and all the hardware tightened to factory specifications Debusman greased the new ball joint and
the urethane bushings at the pivot points.
