Well, if the
urine will not form into clumps, it will drain right into the bottom of the crate,
soiling the rest of the
litter.
Unfortunately, most humans that use this type of
litter only scoop out the fecal material and then stir in the
soiled,
urine soaked
litter.
Clumping
litter has the obvious benefit of clumping around the
urine to form a firm mass, so there is little chance the
litter box will ever become extremely
soiled.
One of the problems with normal cat
urine is the strong odor (because it IS concentrated and is why most
litter boxes STINK after a while and when there is
soiling outside the box, it can be a bear to get rid of the smell!)
