When you're filling up your gas tank at home,
use an airmiles card, when you're buying groceries, get cash back with Scotiabank Gold and with all other purchases, use your favourite cash back credit card.
It's a really arcane art sometimes, getting one's head around the best way to
use airmiles, so it's good to find posts like this which lay it all out.
Unfortunately we have been
using airmiles up to now.

I tend to prefer the credit cards that earn
airmiles or money that can be
used to pay for your travel related expenses but there's absolutely nothing wrong with ALSO earning points that can turn into free nights at popular hotels.
Hmmmm there's no gas stations around here that offer a discount for cash, I get double points though... first for
using my membership, second
airmiles for
using my creditcard, so I don't mind.
So,
airmiles only really beat other cards if you are prepared to spend some time researching how best to spend them, and then
use them very wisely.
This weekend's addition of Flying Blue to Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partners is a big win for flyers as now miles can be
used for rewards once unobtainable through other transfer partners and really expands the reach of
airmiles beyond just Europe but opens up much of the Middle East, Asia, South Africa, the South Pacific, and beyond!
We currently
use our BMO World Elite
Airmiles MasterCard for everything.
You may need to have a card that focuses on frequent flyer points or
airmiles to
use for things related to travel.
