I love to
use bean chips that are higher in fiber and protein, so why not add beans to your salsa for the same reason?

I
used black
beans (that's all i had in the cabinet), I didn't have any tomatoes (probably because I was too lazy to go to the garden), and i added a thin layer of sour cream before adding cheese and corn
chips and putting in the oven.
I also ended up topping each one with a tiny dollop of the leftover mousse from the hazelnut cupcakes; you could also
use chocolate - covered espresso
beans, or even just mini chocolate
chips, to decorate.

beans that are
used as a dip for

i love that you
use chips to make your
beans crispy.
I believe — based on prior conversations with Houston ISD food services — that (1) the Frito Pie is made from baked, whole grain
chips; (2) the chili contains beef and
beans (the
beans are a new addition); (3) there is some whole grain in the pizza crust (but I don't know the percentage), and (4) both dishes
use low - fat (or maybe reduced - fat) cheese.
You can eat the nibs raw, or add them to your cooking (
use instead of chocolate
chips), add to your smoothies or grind with your coffee
beans.
I guess it won't be mint ice - cream anymore but yes, you can Try it with vanilla (I'd
use real vanilla
bean) or juice / zest from one lime or 1/4 cup of unsweetened cacao powder or simply leave it plain (this recipe without the mint & chocolate
chips).
I placed some rice on the bottom, then layered with
beans, corn, salsa (or enchilada sauce if
using) and then decorated the edges with the
