We don't
use bleach for anything, I hate the smell and from previous experience I can see what it does to natural fabric (it will weaken it severely).

of using bleach and other toxic chemicals, though — opt for the environmentally friendly alternatives.
99 % of the time, you can resolve issues without
using bleach at all, let alone without making the decision to bleach soak cloth diapers.

I didn't realize until just a few years ago that you can
use bleach in the washer with off white fabrics... it just may lighten the color a little.
I have never
used bleach on my diapers because it's not recommended on all of them.

If using bleach as a disinfectant or to purify water, do not use scented, color safe or bleaches with added cleaners.
So, his answer is to not
use bleached white flour and instead to use a flour with about 20 % bran in it.
I don't typically
use bleach so I didn't know if it makes the laundry smell like bleach afterwards or if it should have come out without an odor.
(You could
also use bleach solution in a spray bottle, but a wipe is preferable because it won't disperse chemicals throughout your baby's room.)
I would be sure to check your manufacture dirrections
before using the bleach and be sure that you don't have anything pretty in the wash (like a wet bag, mine is slightly paler now * grin *) I bleached the inserts as well as the covers.
But to help maintain the integrity of the fabric, I usually
just use the bleach alternative from Seventh Generation (a hydrogen peroxide solution) which works incredibly well!
Of course, when choosing my sweetener, artificial sweeteners are out, and I no
longer use bleached and refined white sugar, so there was no reason to look for any other sweetener than the honey called for in the original recipe that I found.
I cloth diapered my first and struggled with barnyard stink and ammonia and found myself stripping and
using bleach way more than I should have!!

love using bleach for everything from floors to bathtubs to brighten my whites.
