You can
use dried coconut chips, flakes, or even shreds with this recipe.
Granted, you could totally
use dried coconut flakes and store - bought coconut water and it would definitely qualify!
This recipe uses a whole coconut, but I'll do another post that
uses dried coconut instead at some point.
I made a double batch, weighed out the coconut instead of measuring it, and
used dried coconut chips from sprouts (more like shaved coconut pieces).
Instead of oats and flour I have
used dried coconut, buckwheat and brown rice flour.
Today,
I used dried coconut flakes, sliced raw almonds, oats, and sesame seeds as the base, with cinnamon and cardamom for spice, and a mixture of honey, coconut oil, and vanilla extract to coat.
If
using dried coconut ribbons like I did, roughly chop those as well (if using shredded coconut, their size is fine and you can add them as - is).
I usually
use dry coconut sugar because I prefer it to honey.
If you are even thinking about
using dried coconut flakes from a bag, don't bother with this.
Use the dry coconut, not fresh frozen!

All you need to do is mix porridge oats with some milk and yoghurt (I
use coconut milk and
coconut yoghurt normally), some
dried apple pieces, a sprinkling of chia seeds, a handful of sunflower seeds and some juicy raisins, then just stir it all together and leave it sit for about a minute.
Though, came out a bit
dry and I had to add more liquids so lentils can fully cooked (I
used almond milk as I had no more
coconut milk).
I made these today but had to substitute a few ingredients as I didn't have everything — I
used dried prunes instead of dates, chopped almonds and hazelnuts instead of the sunflower seeds and vegetable oil instead of
coconut oil.

I always travel with this a lot as it's a much easier size than a big
coconut oil jar and I can
use it as a moisturiser for
dry skin too.
I've
used Neals Yard but it made my eyes
dry and
coconut oil doesn't quite do the trick!

I have started
using coconut oil for basically everything (moisturiser face and body, make up remove, scrub, hair mask...) but unfortunately it still leaves my skin very
dry sometimes.
I love topping them with yoghurt (I
use a plain
coconut yoghurt), sun -
dried tomato pesto, chopped tomatoes, slices of creamy avocado and a sprinkling of chives, but they work with so many things.
However, I only
used about 2/3 of the oats you said, and they were still very
dry and the mixture was extremely crumbly — should I have melted the

It could be the brand of
coconut butter
used, I find that certain brands are really
dry and crumbly.
Hi — just wondering if you are
using 8oz of the melted
coconut oil, or are
using a
dry 1 cup measurement for the solid
coconut oil?
I was reading a site on how to make soap with
coconut oil, and it said that
coconut oil is only to be
used up to 1/3 of the amount b / c it will
DRY your skin!?? How can that be, if we are all
using it to soften our skin?
I added in 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder with the
dry ingredients to make this more chocolatey and
used canola oil instead of
coconut oil, then when I made it I put the mixture into muffin cups and pressed down as hard as I could with a spoon.
(very professional looking) I had to make a couple of substitutions based on what I had on hand (I
used peanut butter instead of almond butter, unsweetendd flake
coconut for the
dried fruit, and plain gluteen free crisp rice ceral) and they turned out AMAZING!
The leftover pulp can be
dried and processed into
coconut flour, which can be
used in a number of gluten free recipes.

used the ingredients exactly as stated in the version - 1 recipe, though I did mix it by hand (I added the
coconut oil to the

4 cups raw oats (not quick or instant) 3/4 cup unsweetened

I made these yesterday, grinding the flax seed and oats (to make the oat flour) in my coffee grinder and
using dried, ground
coconut milk pulp for the
coconut flour.
Alternatively, you can marinate the veggies and mushrooms for 20 minutes in the soy sauce (or
coconut aminos) and then
dry - grill them, especially if you're
using larger mushrooms.
Cheryl — Most granola recipes don't require nuts to work, you can just
use oats and
coconut, plus
dried fruit and seeds, if they're not an issue.
I
used honey rather than agave, and 4 cups of unsulphured
coconut (it is
drier than sulphured, and for some reason, I've found that I need to
use more).
I also
used dried dates instead of date paste and red boat fish sauce instead of
coconut aminos, but it tastes great.
Note: This recipe calls for both
coconut sugar and maple syrup because the brownies were too
dry when experimenting with only the granulated sugar, and too moist when
using only maple syrup.
Mix all the
dry ingredients together in a bowl (
coconut flour, baking soda, baking powder, powdered stevia (if
using).
The recipe calls for
dried lentils, if tinned is all you have you would need to reduce the cooking time, and reduce the liquid (I would take out all the stock and just
use coconut).
Next pour the
coconut nectar, agave nectar, stevia, tahini, vanilla, and
coconut extract, if
using, over the
dry ingredients.
2 cups blanched almond flour — I
use Honeyville brand, it works the best 2 cups rolled oats (not instant)-- certified gluten - free if you are intolerant 1 cup fresh pumpkin puree (canned will also work) 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup grapeseed oil (olive oil, melted

For Christmas I like to
use dried cranberries and papaya, but cherries, apricots, prunes, figs, dates,
coconut, and strawberries are also excellent choices.
This time round, I wanted to
use up some of the
dried persimmons I had left in the freezer and so I combined them with granola, walnuts, dark chocolate chips, and unsweetened
coconut flakes.
I
used coconut oil to shave my legs then I scrubbed my legs with the
coconut scrub then I shaved again to get off all the
dry skin and I couldn't believe how well it worked and my legs stayed smooth for days.
Love these and I love
coconut so much its really good for almost anything I am just so glad I can make these and will make as gifts for family and friends
