While the word basic has not been
used by the eager wearers of everything «all the rage» (and I didn't know it existed), I couldn't help but notice the fear lurking behind those sartorial reproaches: How dare I resist the pull of the crowd, why wouldn't I try with all my might to prove I belong there, how can I afford to simply wear simple things (the
