Hi Sandra, quick question, can
you use guar gum instead of agar - agar because it's so expensive and I noticed with soba noodles all the ones I found have a little sugar in them, would it set me back if i ate some that contained less than 1 gram?
I think it might help if
you use guar gum - I think xanthan gum would help too.
Most bottled taco sauces
use guar or xanthan gums which I can not eat so am looking for something good to sub that isn't a chunky salsa type sauce.
I use guar gum as my binder in this recipe (as I have started using solely or in combination with xanthan gum in most of my baking recipes) because I find the cookies maintain a longer shelf life and stay true to their just - baked texture.

itself you use guar instead of xanthum (using no xanthum at all)?
I'll
use guar on occasion, but I've found that in a lot of recipes that I've found on line, I can eliminate the xanthum and still have excellent results.
I am allergic to all aspects of corn and xanthan is derived from corn so
I use guar but it does nt always turn out right.
You can definitely
use guar, I am not sure about psyllium.

I sub out the cornstarch with arrowroot, and
use guar instead of Xanthan because the corn makes me sick.
I we have been
using guar gum without any problems.
I have to say, I have not
used Guar Gum that often, but have had great results with Xanthan Gum in breads, muffins, and baked goods.

using guar gum,» he says.
So, now I am
using guar gum.

I've just discovered and have begun
using guar gum (thanks to Fran Costigan's new chocolate book) and if I have success with that ingredient in my recipes, I will probably switch over once my several pounds supply of xanthan gum is exhausted, only because I do know some people don't want xanthan gum in their stuff.
Hi Heidi, from what I can tell none of the people who have made this egg - free have
used guar or xanthan — I never use either as I hate the gummyness so I can't advise on amounts if you were to use.
I don't know if it will work for you, but many people have
used Guar Gum in place of the Xanthan Gum.

I used Guar Gum instead of Xanthan gum, and replaced the Arrowroot starch with more Tapioca starch (didn't have any on hand).

Brian Gettelfinger, an accomplished swimmer, swam through about 600 pounds of a syrup substitute — an edible thickener called
guar gum —
using backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle.
There is a recipes on the Pamela's website for white sandwich bread and they don't add any xanthan, just
use the flour blend as is since it has
guar gum in it.
So experiment until you find what you love and then you can stick with that I sometimes have better luck
using flour blends that don't have xanthan or
guar gum added so I can play with amounts and find what works best for each recipe.
Some people
use xanthan gum or
guar gum to substitute for the gluten, but lately I've been trying to figure out a way to bake gluten free without the gums.

Coconut Milk — If
using canned coconut milk, I always recommend
using a brand without any stabilizers in it like
guar or xanthum gum.

used 2C of your basic white gluten free flour blend and 1 / 2C sweet white rice flour, water and
guar gum as the options in this recipe.
To keep the cinnamon from oozing out of the rolls a natural stabilizer such as xantham gum (or
