I roasted whole hazelnuts and ground them, but you can also
use hazelnut meal as a shortcut.
I love hazelnut and chocolate together so when I make this recipe again I will definitely
use all hazelnut meal instead of the almond flour.
You could try
using hazelnut meal.....
Today we didn't have flaxseed meal so
I used hazelnut meal and it gave it a really nice sweetness if anyone wants to play with that:)!
I used hazelnut meal because it's what I had, but almond meal or another nut would be fine, and I imagine ground sunflower seeds would also work for a nut - free option.
The second time I made it,
I used hazelnut meal from Trader Joe's instead of toasting the hazelnuts myself and the flavor was definately compromised.
Using hazelnut meal in these muffins gives them such an indulgent taste.

using almond or
hazelnut meal / flour, always combine it with a GF - AP blend.
In place of flour, I
use toasted
hazelnut meal, as this to me is the ultimate companion to chocolate.

Try
hazelnut or walnut
meal instead of the almond flour if you're not allergic... Regarding sweetness in the dish,
use honey if you're afraid of maple syrup and you can always omit chock chips and
use cacao nibs.
I totally love your site and recipes ~ I just whipped this one up and made substitutions due to what I had on hand... added some
hazelnuts to the raw almonds,
used peanut butter instead of almond butter, whole chia seeds instead of flax
meal, only had 1/4 c. shredded coconut but that was fine.
The cherries and plums are perfect and I love the
