Using the frozen tea
in place of regular ice is a great way to ice up a
smoothie without watering it
down.
If you're
using a lower powered blender just be sure to mince your ginger well and cut your pineapple into smaller chunks so that it breaks
down nicely and doesn't leave you with stringy pieces
in your
smoothie.
Turn them upside
down, open the cans, and pour out the liquid (reserve for another
use like
smoothies or curry), leaving the thick cream
in the can.
The liquid helps break
down the cell walls Soak them overnight
in enough water to cover them, then rinse them before
using them
in your
smoothie.
Frozen zucchini is also great to
use in place of ice cubes to prevent a watered -
down smoothie.
However, if you are
using watered
down «drinking» coconut milk from a tetra pak (not all brands are watered
down for drinking), then you will need to either drip it thick like old - fashioned yogurt, or
use it like kefir
in smoothies.
Whipping up this
smoothie takes a few minutes and the loud, annoying blender sound is the wake - up call for everyone else
in the house (no
use going up and
down the stairs three times!)
Another caveat to remember, is that when you
use coconut oil
in a
smoothie, as you suggest, do NOT rinse it
down the drain when washing your blender, since the oil solidifies
in cool weather and will clog your drain badly over time.

down the street from me, and my favorite, the «Detox Greens» has honey dew — I had never thought of
using it
in juice /
smoothies before, but I will definitely start!
I love
using frozen banana chunks
in smoothies because then you don't need to add ice, which can melt and water the
smoothies down.
