The game features solid gunplay, which I had fun with as I weaved through incoming fire and returned some of my own with various weapons, but I also had fun with the skill
trees, which players can
use to learns skills that can turn the tide of
battle (though limited
in the beta once again), like team healing,
using special grenades or ballistic shields, and more.
The map you'll
use to travel around is visually nice to look at, showing
trees and mountains, as well as the small towns,
battles and errands you'll take part
in, but once your
in a
battle the world looks pretty dull.
It's a blast
using the Leviathan Axe, and levelling up the weapon via a Dwarven blacksmith allows you to pour experience points into a fairly robust skill
tree to give you even more options
in battle.
Mostly, it would be pretty hilarious to see the usually rooted
tree walking around — yes, yes, even though we did just see something similar
in Robobot — and
using trunk, bark, root, and branch to turn the tide
in battle.
TNT Barrels are first
used while the Kongs are
battling some Kremlings and their barrel cannons
in Tree Top Town.
By pouring points into Combat, Biotic, or Tech progression
trees, Ryder can unlock «profiles» that open up new tactics to
use in battle.
