I use jarred marinara sauce in this recipe to save time, but if you're feeling ambitious in the new year, go ahead and make your own!
For this pizza (pictured above)
I used jarred marinara sauce (Trader Joe's Tomato Basil Marinara), spinach, cremini mushrooms, black olives, diced red pepper, sliced red onion, and a combo of Muenster and smoked Gouda (because that's what I had around).

Use jarred marinara to speed up the spicy arrabbiata
sauce that's ladled over top.
Along with the frozen meatballs, I also
use a large package of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, a
jar of
marinara sauce, shredded cheeses and a few other simple ingredients making these sliders come together in a snap!
Don't get me wrong, I
use canned goods and shortcuts on recipes when I am in a rush to get dinner made, but after I made this
marinara sauce a few times, I will never buy
jarred marinara sauce again.
For this recipe I made my Twenty Minute

Also, you can
use a
jar of spaghetti or
marinara sauce for a good base.
Top each chicken cutlet with about 1/2 cup
marinara sauce (
use up the
jar), the provolone and the Parmesan, and return to the oven.
You can also
use leftover
marinara sauce or
use a store bought
jar of
marinara if you are in a crunch for time.
I call it my «lazy vegan bolognese» because I
use a
jar of prepared
marinara sauce to make it on busy weeknights, when I need to get dinner on the table fast!
The
sauce can easily be substituted with your favorite
marinara (
use jarred for a time saver)-- simply skip to step 5.
You can choose to be fancy and
use your favorite bolognese
sauce recipe, or simply add ground beef to a
jar of
marinara sauce.
You could
use any
sauce here — even a
jarred marinara.
Next, add 2 (24 - ounce)
jars of
marinara sauce and
use a wooden spoon to scrape up the brown bits that are stuck to the pot.
