I also use a lot of petroleum based creams with no problem, but I only
use natural fiber diapers.

When I get new
natural fiber inserts or
diapers I wash them three to four times with clothes, sheets, and / or towels before running them a final time with the rest of my
diapers before their first
use.
Cotton and other
natural fibers used for cloth
diapers are highly absorbent, and depending on the style, do a better job of holding in leaks than their paper counterpart, the disposable
diaper.
