We feel free to
use them
in our
recipes calling for dark chocolate as they are free of gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, tree
nuts, and eggs.
While you can
use pretty much any combination of
nuts in this
recipe, I highly recommend
using a combo of almonds and pecans because they compliment the dates perfectly.
It combines peanut butter, honey, oats and grains, but feel free to
use any kind of
nut, grains, seeds or even dried fruit
in the mixture — just stick to the quantities
in the
recipe, and you'll get a different kind of energy bars each and every time.
To increase the taste of rice

We do
use chunky soy
nut butter, soy milk, and brown sugar
in the
recipe (this is due to my 4 year old having severe food allergies.
Note on Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids: Instead of a higher omega - 6 content
nut like a pecan, this
recipe uses macadamias which are the lowest
in omega - 6 fatty acids by far when compared to other
nuts.
The
nuts themselves are a great snack (I LOVE them), plus the flour can pretty much be substituted 1:1
in any

recipes because it delivers a huge punch of nutrition and such a sweet, cake - like flavor; it's also lower
in fat than
nut - based flours because you can
use less to get the same effects.
My advice would be to either
use walnuts as mentioned

nuts are softer, blending easily with the oats
