small use of amiibo.
Currently, the only title to make
full use of Amiibo is Super Smash Bros for Wii U. Instead of allowing players to play as their Amiibo, it acts as it's own digital entity that can be trained, leveled up, and pit against other Amiibo.
Smash Bros. did well by incorporating custom trainable characters
by use of Amiibo, but you didn't NEED the Amiibo to access a character.
While Nintendo's
use of amiibo in Super Smash Bros. is far from a silly gimmick, the company still hasn't announced their plans for integrating the technology into other franchises.
Still, as a completely optional extra from a game and figure not owned by Nintendo I'd say this is a
great use of an amiibo and I hope it's a sign of things to come for other indie titles in the future
