of your favorite cereals); add chocolate chips to the crust mixture; add peanuts to the crust mixture; sprinkle
nuts, chocolate chips, or drizzle caramel or chocolate sauce over the caramel mixture... see what I mean?
For those who are particularly sensitive to dairy
milk, rinse the grains in non-dairy
milk or water prior to
using again in coconut or other
nut milks to remove any traces
of lactose or casein.

use the pulp (which has lots
of fiber and nutrition, unlike the
milks themselves) by adding it to breads, waffles, pancakes — that sort

I've heard
of people
using multiple layers
of cheesecloth and fine - mesh strainers, but I've found the
nut milk bag to be the most effective tool for the job.
The second joy
of using any
nut milk made by Silk is that it's always loaded with nutrients, calcium and essential vitamins, meaning that combined with the pumpkin, you're doing your body a whole lot
of good while enjoying a whole lot
of yummy baked pumpkin mac and cheese.
I toast then coarsely chop my filberts (hazelnuts)- and you could
use so many different yummy crunchies here - pine
nuts, pecans, toasted slivered almonds, even croutons
of day old crusty bread... for those watching their saturated fat,
use evaporated skim
milk instead
of the cream - just as yummy!
I mixed everything in my Ninja food processor w / the dough paddle,
used dehydrated almond
nut pulp (left from making almond
milk) for the flour, honey instead
of agave, regular mini chocolate chips, and I also put in 2 really ripe bananas.
In place
of a cheesecloth, you may
use a
nut milk bag or kitchen towel.
I
used to be a big fan
of their coconut
milk, but I am not so mad on all the added sugar, I prefer to make my own
nut mylks lately!
I generally
use either filtered water or
nut milk as a base in green smoothies but here I am
using green tea as a base; to get the amazing health benefits
of green tea.
The
nut milk I make is a blend
of 3/4 oats and 1/4 almonds, and I made these crackers with fresh rosemary from my garden and
used avocado oil and they are absolute perfection!!!
If you're blending fruit with a lot
of seeds, such as raspberries or strawberries, you can
use a fine mesh strainer (or a
nut milk bag) to strain the puree.
FYI, you can also
use an organic probiotic bill to and put it into the cashew cream /
nut cream / or
nut free hemp (any) seed cream... to to turn it into yogurt / if you can't buy real Kefir Bacteria (Lactobacilli bacteria)- Its not dairy but is
used to make
milk into Kefir and after its
used to turn
milks into yogurt, you can strain out the original chunks
of bacteria (which is what we do here in Greece and then put the Kefir in the freezer so you can perpetually re-
use it — while waiting for yogurt to become cheese.

of protein powder (vanilla) or 1 scoop if you have a larger container 3 tbl

And for those who have an aversion to
nuts,

of rolled oats in the crust and increase the non-dairy

of ingredients, and you can
use cashew
nut or almond
milk in place
of the coconut
milk if you like.
For the
milk, you can
use an equal amount
of coconut
milk, goat or sheep
milk,
nut milk, or anything your family enjoys.
You still want to
use great tomatoes, and you can easily make this vegan by
using coconut
milk or a thick
nut milk in place
of the heavy cream called for.
I
used my
nut milk bag to remove the pulp and then I blended the
milk with 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tbsp
of maple syrup, it tastes fantastic, I've just taken to drinking it straight from the jar - I am the only one who
uses it!!
Pressing
nut milks from scratch isn't really a walk in the park, because
of the multiple rounds
of grinding, pressing and repeat, not to mention the fact that there is a real risk
of faster spoilage since hands were
used to press out the
milk.
You can
use any
milk of your choice, you can add spices and
nut butters, fruits, berries or seeds as toppings.
