You might have noticed that both of the more durable topcoats I've mentioned so far, Finishing Cream and Tough Coat Sealer, are not recommended for
use over dark colors.
Please note, this topcoat is also not recommended for
use over dark colors as it may look cloudy.

Let them
color over paper with
dark blue watercolors and
use shaker to salt
over wet paint.
I actually prefer yams
over sweet potatoes, because they are
darker in
color, which means richer in vitamins and nutrients (sweet potatoes and yams are often
used interchangeably and confused).
As you know,
using a peach toned
color over dark circles can really cancel out any darkness.
To create an ombre effect,
use another paintbrush for
darker colors and slowly paint
over one another.
I
used a medium lip
color (Sunset Cruise) and layered a much
darker lip balm (Red Dahlia)
over it.
Over the rest of the base, I
used 3 coats total of chalk paint in «Nautical» Blue which is
darker than the Plutonium
color.
I
used this award - winning Tom Ford Quad Compact in Honeymoon, applying the
darkest color into the creases of eyelid, then blending all
over the lid with the more rosey
color.
I also made sure to go
over the eyebrows with a
darker color, eventhough I knew I would be
using a black outline on them later.
All three have strong
dark to light contrast, and all three
use color contrast (yellow and blue; Odd Thomas more purple) Bared to You fits the title in nicely
over the image, it would be hard to put it anywhere else.
I
used the same brown leather cubes, a rust -
colored log bucket and one large piece of art
over the mantle, which is painted
dark brown.
Depending on what kind of paint you
used or how you applied the paint you can take a small paint brush and paint
over the area that you took to much off and then take a q - tip and dip it into fingernail polish remover with acetone and gently go
over the area you re-painted to remove some of the paint so you can see through to the
darker color.

One thing to note here, the Dead Flat version is not recommended for
use over black or other
dark colors.
For that reason I tend to
use either hemp oil or one of the
dark colored waxes
over dark colors.
I redid my entire bathroom cabinets
using a
dark brown antiquing glaze
over a mahogany
colored paint and even created a faux wood grain that looked like real mahogany.
Others like a French look and
use 2
colors and add
dark wax
over the paint to look old.
If we had to paint
over bright or
darker colors, I'd consider a coat of primer first, especially depending on the paint brand you
use.
