We don't
use water bowls for them, as they get most of their water from their food, supplemented by periodic soakings in shallow lukewarm water.
Kittens are inclined to grow out of behaviors like splashing in the water, though, so patience may be the best solution if your young cat is
using its water bowl as a toy.
