I've had nettle soup before and it was quite nice, wouldn't have thought to
use them in a smoothie though, nice idea and glad to hear they didn't sting!

use chia seeds
in my
smoothie but
though that sounds nice.
The color may depend on the kind of cherries you
use — I always buy frozen dark sweet cherries at Whole Foods (even
though they're called sweet cherries, there's no sugar added) because I love to put them
in smoothies, but my new favorite
use for them is this delicious glaze.
I made a similar
smoothie the other day (I also added banana to mine), and even
though I
used a liquid egg white product
in it for protein, I think I needed a little «good» fat to make it more satisfying.
But it's hard to know for sure —
though if that's his reaction I would definitely
use less coconut oil
in the
smoothies and just
use it somewhere else instead.
I don't
use it
in smoothies often enough
though and I'm not sure why.
Though I have
used blueberries
in this blueberry oats
smoothie recipe, feel free to add any berries of your choice.
Even
though I
used a fairly large amount
in my
smoothie, the taste was almost unnoticeable — it didn't taste as earthy to me as some green matcha teas I've tried.
The only reason I can think of to not
use coconut oil
in a
smoothie is if the person is allergic or sensitive to coconuts (
though coconuts are not a food that commonly gives people problems.)
So
though I'm not opposed to just be
using it
in my
smoothies, the Superfood Kitchen opened my eyes to some other possibilities!
I
used a bit of frozen banana to sweeten this shake, which I don't always do because I kind of feel the banana is way overused
in smoothie recipes, even
though it is one of my favorite
smoothie ingredients.
