I like to
use this protein powder with my smoothies, because it doesn't change the taste.
Green Smoothies - even when
using a protein powder with pea protein I tend to gain weight, feel drowsy and bloated.
Also, apologies if this is a stupid question, but why do you add extras to the smoothie rather than just
use the protein powder with coconut / almond milk or cream to make a shake or smoothie?

I made a couple substitutions — I filled the 1/3 cup up half way
with maple syrup first, then the other half of the way
with honey; I
used 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup unflavored
protein isolate
powder; I substituted quinoa for the millet.
3 tablespoons buttermilk (this is important; it helps
with the airiness) 3 tablespoons vanilla brown rice
protein pow (I
used Growing Naturals
protein pow) 4 tablespoons Cinnamon roll flavored whey
protein powder (could sub
with vanilla whey) 6 egg whites 1/3 cup almond milk (could sub
with any milk) 6 tablespoons amaranth flour (again, feel free to sub this
with oat flour, ground oats, quinoa flakes, or almond butter) 1/2 tablespoon baking
powder 2 tablespoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
You can
use any unflavored or vanilla vegan
protein powder, or leave it out and substitute
with oat flour instead.
You can never, ever go wrong
with cookies I'm not huge on
using protein powders either, but they definitely add a nice touch to certain recipes, and it helps when they're made
with natural ingredients and no pesky chemical additives.
*** i was out of almond & coconut milk on one of my many attempts at baking this, so i
used 1/3 c water mixed
with 1/3 scoop vanilla
protein powder and mixed it in a shaker bottle to make my own «vanilla milk»... it worked great!
* Please
use a nice natural
protein powder with no (or very few!)
The takeaway is to build your diet
with a base of solid food and
use protein powder as a — you guessed it — supplement when it's healthy and convenient.

I tried this today and maybe the

use doesn't work well
with kale and kiwi but I couldn't drink it — it was thick and not super tasty.
