1 small red or yellow onion, peeled

Use spices to brighten otherwise simple meals, like cinnamon,
turmeric,
and ginger.
In this cauliflower rice recipe they are borrowing heavily from Indian fare,
and they are
using spices like cumin,
turmeric,
ginger,
and cardamom to bring you flavors that your palate might not be
used to.
(I always
use turmeric and basil, Hil prefers
ginger and mint.)

One of my favorite protein powders is Gut Healing Protein which
uses a pea protein
and is full of digestive enhancing, anti-inflammatory nutrients such as
turmeric,
ginger, quercetin, bioflavonoids, ellagic acid, green tea, watercress
and N - Acetyl Cysteine.
I
used ground
turmeric,
ginger and cinnamon to create the warm, golden flavor
and then
used non-dairy milk
and yogurt to give these overnight oats the creamiest texture ever.
Using a pestle
and mortar, grind the garlic,
turmeric and ginger to form a rough paste.
If you can't get fresh
turmeric +
ginger,
use 1/4 teaspoon dried of each, taste
and adjust by adding more to your liking.
Add the garlic,
ginger,
and fresh
turmeric (if
using), stir,
and cook for another about 60 seconds or until softened
and fragrant.
I love
using fresh
ginger and turmeric together as aside from tasting amazing, they both have brilliant anti-inflammatory properties that are good for your body on so many levels.
Some cooks find it easier just to
use powdered
ginger and turmeric.
I have been
use fresh
turmeric root
and fresh
ginger root about 2 years
and I add ceylon cinnamon bark also I add whole cloves to my hot tea; honey raw
and lemon... keep my bones healthy... no pain
Mustard sauce is made from grinding mustard seeds, red chiles,
and turmeric (plus optional
ginger and coriander seeds)--
use one red chile for one tablespoon of mustard seeds
and one teaspoon of
ginger and coriander seeds —
and add water until you achieve a creamy, but non runny, consistency.
It's worth
using fresh
turmeric and ginger to make this drink — both are often stocked at Whole Foods or Asian
and Indian grocers.
In the summer, tea wasn't as appetizing so I made it into «ice cream» —
using the frozen banana trick: one frozen banana, 1 teaspoon of
ginger, 1 teaspoon of
turmeric, dash of cayenne,
and a few turns of the pepper mill, processed in a food processor until it resembles soft serve.
