using canned; I've
used fresh pumpkin, added
sausage... Thank you!
The
vegetarian bacon I
used was great and I can't wait to try a
sausage one next.
You can also
use tofu instead of Italian
sausage to make this
vegetarian and healthier (I know
sausage isn't the healthiest option but you really only get a little per serving and it's great for flavor).
To make this stuffing
vegetarian - friendly, omit the
sausage and
use vegetable broth instead of chicken.
I had a crown of broccoli in the fridge and one
vegetarian sausage link that I wanted to
use up so I added it into the recipe as well.

used Lightlife
vegetarian ground
sausage in place of the actual
sausage - and it was really good.
You can throw in potatoes to make it more filling, take out the chicken essence and
use vegetable broth to make it
vegetarian / vegan, cut up
sausage for more protein...
I loved this dish, but because I'm a
vegetarian, I
used crimini mushrooms in lieu of the
sausage, and oh my!

Despite the fact that terms like «milk» have been
using to describe plant - based products such as almond milk as far back as Medieval times, French MPs have voted to ban producers of
vegetarian meat substitutes from
using words such as steak, bacon or
sausage to describe their products if they are not partly or wholly composed of meat.
MP for La République En Marche party, Jean - Baptiste Moreau, initially proposed the ban claiming that
using words and phrases such as «plant burgers» or «
vegetarian sausage» were misleading to consumers.
I substituted two
vegetarian sausages and a package of meatless chicken from Trader Joe's for the squash and eggplant, and
used a tablespoon each of Cajun spice mix, a red and black pepper mix, and red hot pepper flakes instead of cayenne peppers.
You could even leave out the
sausage and
use vegetable broth to make it a
vegetarian dressing.
