I did
use the white wax all over this piece, and even though it's a little brighter than Old White, once it's rubbed in and buffed you can't even notice a difference.
Some clear waxes tend to turn your white painted furniture a dingy color... so if you want it to be pure white, I'd
use a white wax.
Take a piece of white paper and
using a white wax crayon draw a simple outline picture of anything - a ball, tree, cloud, house, dog etc..
I then
used white wax as a finish.
I made a big mistake
using white wax!
Being that I had never
used white wax, I didn't know how it was supposed to look on the chairs when wet.

white and now have a coffee ring on it that will not come off, (maybe a should have put more
wax on it, I
used two coats) so I'm concerned about the stains on the top of a dinning table if I paint it.
For instance, dark
wax is
used when you want to antique and deepen the color,
white wax softens the look and tones down the color and clear
wax is just for protection... it doesn't alter the color at all.

used on the toy armoire and my master bedroom window trim, among other things).

used white chalk paint on the shelves first, then buffed a little bit of dark paste
wax over the
white to give them an antiqued look.

used would be considered the clear
wax, though it definitely has a
white look to it in the jar — I haven't noticed any yellowing, though I suppose it could as the years pass.
Jan, I have tried many products to
use over chalk paint, several
waxes then I switched to polycrylic top coats and have tried several, the best I've ever
used is Polyvine Decorator's Varnish Dead Flat Finish — it DOES NOT yellow, I just
used over two big pieces of furniture painted in Pure
White and Off
White and absolutely no yellowing.
I did not
use clear
wax first because the
white wax is so light anyway.

white) so far chais and bottom of table are done need to do china cabinet curio cabinet and a side bar the top of table of sidebar will be stained but the chairs I

use everyday as dining kitchen table is there a sealer that I can
