Over the years I've

My daughter

I looked at Etsy shops and art stores that would create custom wall quotes, but realized I could create the same type of art by just getting poster prints from Mixbook (under home decor > poster prints) and
using free or inexpensive editing software like
PicMonkey.

Use Every Time
Pure White Chalk Paint Red latex paint (I already had it, otherwise I wouldn't have
used latex) Modern Masters gold metallic paint Purdy paint brush FrogTape for delicate surfaces (my favorite for painting projects) Yardstick This stencil (I only
used the crown) Overhead projector for transferring the «Telephone» graphic (created in
PicMonkey and printed onto clear transparency paper) Sharpies for outlining the letters and black paint for filling in the letters

use MS Word too.
I personally
use Photoshop, but there are free editing programs out there such as GIMP and
PicMonkey.
For my next baby, I decided to mix it up and
use a digital overlay that I could just put on my picture
using the free picture editing website

PicMonkey.

PicMonkey and Canva — you'll be able to create an image quote in about five minutes.

Picmonkey Tricks I
Use Every Time
PicMonkey allowed me to create the sign
using the Design feature.
PicMonkey is a photo editing software that
used to be free, but unfortunately it isn't free anymore.
In
PicMonkey you can do that by clicking on «Neutral Picker» instead of «Auto Adjust», then
use your mouse to position the little pointer over the spot you want to base the white balance on.
I haven't tried very many of them, and in fact two that I've
used regularly in the past have become defunct (Picasa and Window Live Photo Gallery) leaving me currently with just
PicMonkey.
