Their report on a new solid, stable material that can pack in a large amount of hydrogen that can be
used as a fuel appears in the ACS journal Chemistry of Materials.

That has been rather controversial, but the mechanism
appears to be that normally insulin does increase lipid synthesis, because it wants to
use some of the
fuel coming from glucose and other pathways, and help store that energy
as fat.

It's now pretty clear that renewables can replace fossil
fuels in their main
uses, electricity generation and land transport, at a very modest cost or,
as appears to be the case for electricity, with a cost saving.
To me this would
appear to be a worst case scenario, based on the least developed economies building up energy infrastructures largely
using fossil
fuels, in order to pull their populations out of poverty,
as China and India are doing today (thereby reducing their rate of population growth
as they become more affluent and improving their carbon efficiencies) and the remaining societies continuing to improve their overall carbon efficiencies
as they have already been doing.
There
appear to be no environmental or technological hurdles preventing the diversion and
use of paper fiber
as fuel.
