The recipe creates a medium level of
chai spice, so if you prefer a lighter
chai flavour, then simply

used the base from my Glazed Doughnut Muffins, but this time I infused the batter with
chai spices.

The leftover
spices can be
used to make a second batch of
chai syrup, simply add them to another 5 cups of water and 1/2 cup raw sugar.

My recipe for the mushroom tea
uses 2 tbsp chaga pieces (small chunks sort of the size of rice or lentils), 5 - 6 medium reishi slices, a small piece of rehmannia root, 1 tbsp or so of green stevia leaf (the dried herb), a 1/2 cinnamon stick or some
chai spice & any other herbs I feel will complement these, all added to 2 litres of water).
I didn't have
chai protein powder, so I
used a neutral protein / smoothie mix with 1 tsp of some homemade
chai spice.
They're full of
spices that will remind you of
chai, and are a bit healthier than regular brownies —
using healthier sugar and fats, as well as whole grain flours like teff, and fiber - rich black beans.
