I did some roller stamping recently as well, and
I used chalk type paint from Heirloom Traditions instead of the IOD ink.

My son, who is an antique furniture restorer and French polisher would agree with all you say about waxing he would always
use varnish of one
type or another but then again he rarely
uses chalk paint Margaret

I know I said that I would talk about the various
types of paint that these sprayers will spray, Latex, Annie Sloan
Chalk Paint etc but to be honest I kind of
use the Annie Sloan
Chalk Paint as a bit of a bench mark for this example because it's far thicker that most latex paints I've ever
used, so if a spray gun will handle Annie Sloan
Chalk Paint without it being thinned then it will handle all but the thickest of paints out there in the market place.
what confuses me is the

chalk paint... and where do I
use the plaster paris...... I was going to follow your
chalk paint recipe with calcium carbonate... so do I mix that with my behr P510 blue paint....

The reason I like the one I
use is that it comes in a powder so it last me longer... I paint with different
types of paint, milk paint,
chalk paint, latex, it really depends on «the look» I am going for..
Another reason to
use shellac: Painting
Chalk Paint ® over a previously painted surface that has some
type of effect — will most likely pass through to the
Chalk Paint ®.

use or would you stick to the branded ones made specifically for waxing
chalk paint?
I would test it out
using a small amount of the paints — latex + craft to see what happens when it is mixed into a DIY
chalk type paint mixture.
Have you
used the Annie Sloan wax over anything other than
chalk paint such as stained woods, milk paints, or other water based latex
type paints?
I have
