use your AAdvantage miles to book British Airways Business

for products that are considerably worse than what we have come to expect on premium airlines.
Avianca is a member of the Star Alliance so LifeMiles can be
used for travel on a host of interesting airlines — you can even
use LifeMiles to book highly coveted Lufthansa
First Class awards — so that makes any LifeMiles sale interesting.
But when you consider that American Airlines charges 180,000 miles roundtrip
for first class awards on Etihad, it's not the best idea to
use Alitalia miles
for these coveted
awards.
You can get even better value if you
use miles
for high - end cabins on
award - winning partner airlines, such as Cathay Pacific which regularly comes in right behind Singapore Airlines» famous suites in lists of the top
first class cabins.
Though Delta isn't known
for offering a generous amount of
award space to its partners, I was able to find four
first -
class award seats available in August from Denver to Maui via Los Angeles and Seattle
using the online
award search engine
for Alaska Airlines, which you don't even need an account to
use.

using miles
for first class awards on any airline.
Although Delta prices its lowest
award flights to Hawaii at 45,000
for roundtrip in economy and 90,000
for round - trip in
first class, you can book the exact same Delta flights
using 25,000 Korean Air SKYPASS miles in economy and 45,000 Korean Air SKYPASS miles in
first class.
The most common
use for JMB
awards are to fly the famous Emirates
first class after Alaska made redeeming
for first class on Emirates prohibitively expensive.
Elimination of 15 % online booking discount: The online booking discount of 15 %
for all SQ reward flights booked through their web site made
award trips great value — I was able to book my
First Class flight from Manila to Europe
for only 72,250 miles one - way —

As most readers know, it's already become very difficult to book Cathay Pacific
first class in advance
using AAdvantage miles, especially if you're searching
for two
award seats.
If I can get a
first class award on United, even without
first class seats
for US to Australia (perhaps
using a three - cabin
first class flight domestically, or because
first class was available in one direction) then I can waitlist
for the segments I don't have in
first.
That means your best option
for booking Korean Air
first -
class awards is by
using Korean Air SkyPass miles.
You'll want to book back - up flights, either
using United but booking on United or other Star Alliance partners that do offer advance availability (or even Lufthansa Business
class awards for the flights you hope to get
first class on) OR
use American AAdvantage or other miles to book backup flights.
Ever since the United
Award Chart Devaluation and with Singapore KrisFlyer Now a Chase Ultimate Rewards Transfer Partner my favorite
use of Ultimate Rewards points has been transferring them to KrisFlyer, to be able to redeem
for Singapore Suites on the A380 or Singapore New
First Class.
For long haul

class awards, I recommend
using AAdvantage miles.
