Ideally, a filter would be a thin
slice of
wood you could
use for a few days, then throw it away and replace at almost no cost.
For instance, they can
use a corer to extract a thin cylinder of
wood (without hurting the tree), or
use a saw to take a
slice of a branch.
I
used lots of texture, from shiny gold balls to mercury glass, pom - poms, faux fur,
wood slices and linen hoops.
For the

used a small stump from a pretty birch tree that fell on my neighbors property.

I collect pinecones so I
used a few of those and I added a few

Once your wooden piece is dry, attach to the
wood slice piece
using a glue gun.
Even though the surface of this
wood slice is painted with chalkboard paint the hand lettering was painted on
using the technique of printing it on a piece of paper, rubbing the back with a piece of chalk and tracing it onto the
