Cheyletiella mites can live off of the dog for several days, so it is generally recommended to treat the house, kennel or other premises in which the dogs reside, but this may not be necessary when

I have not encountered problems
using these sprays where dogs reside.with monthly
fipronil spray (Frontline Plus) or Revolution (Selamectin) drops are quite effective in repelling ticks.
If you do opt for flea treatment, consider
using topical
fipronil; it is among the most cost - effective flea treatments available and is safe for cats of all ages.
The label for Frontline Plus (with 9.8 %
fipronil and 11.8 % methoprene) says that that it should not be
used on kittens under 8 weeks old.
The manufacturer's web site says that Frontline Top Spot (with 9.7 % of the active ingredient
fipronil) should not be
used on kittens under 12 weeks old.
In fact, they
use the same active ingredient,
fipronil, in the same concentration as Frontline Top Spot but it costs about 50 % less.
