I tried to make this soup months ago
using Daiya cheese, but it just didn't work out, so I'm so glad I came across this recipe.
Sarah S. emailed me to let me know that you can make these dairy free by
using Daiya cheese.
I used Daiya cheese to make it vegan.
He loves pizza and
we use Daiya cheese on our homemade pizza.
If you don't want to make the cashew cheese, you can ofcourse
use daiya cheese, or any other vegan cheese equivalent.

The recipe suggests you
use Daiya dairy - free
cheese, which I did and it is an awesome substitute!
We typically
use Follow Your Heart on pizza and
Daiya when we want
cheese incorporated into a dish, like a casserole or dip.
I went ahead and tried it this morning,
using soy milk (plain, not vanilla) and
Daiya shredded
cheese.
Two nights later, I
used the above ^ chili leftovers, freshly chopped veggies and
Daiya cheese to make a rendition of Nature's Table Vegetarian Bowl... Yum!
I've so far been able to
use Follow Your heart and
Daiya vegan
cheese interchangeably with great results.
As for the
cheese, Georgia has a mozzarella style that she makes sometimes (still perfecting it) but also often
uses Daiya brand mozarella shreds which work very well for this dish.
Approx. 100 grams goat
cheese 1 c. chili regular or vegetarian 1/2 c. non-dairy shredded
cheese (I

Daiya cheese has been
used for years to make the perfect mac &
cheese.
On pizza, we
use Daiya shreds, but I've noticed many long - time vegans don't care for
Daiya cheese, so if your palate has moved beyond
Daiya, you can try avocado on pizza which I prefer now to vegan shreds.
I
use Rice and sometime Almond milk and
Daiya cheese quite good really: --RRB-
It's easy to veganize quesadillas simply by
using vegan
cheese (my favorite is
Daiya shreds, as they melt so very nicely — any variety, though the spicy pepper jack is particularly good for this purpose).
2 cups shredded vegan cheddar, jack, or pepper jack
cheese (or a blend; I
use Daiya pepper jack), divided
Vegan goat
cheese in our area is expensive, so I
used a combination of Tofutti cream
cheese and
Daiya pepper jack flavored shreds.
For the
cheese, I
used Daiya's Jalapeno Havarti because I am allergic to dairy.
For our plant - based purposes, I recommend
Daiya vegan shredded

I have yet to try the
daiya cheeses, but this looks like a really fun way to
use it I haven't had mac and
cheese in a really long time!!!
But since I haven't always gone through the trouble of making it, I often
use Daiya block
cheese.
1/2 cup

Daiya Mozeralla plus a little more for the top gluten free bread crumbs - I
used Southern Homestyle Corn Flake Crumbs (look under Food Favorites)
I have enjoyed the
Daiya cheese, but I keep limiting myself to smaller amounts to try to get
used to the taste.
If you can't tolerate goat

For my bun I
used an Udi's Hamburger Bun and for the
cheese I
used the
Daiya mozzarella.

use plain dairy - free cream

I followed the recipe exactly, aside from the fact that I
used dairy - free alternatives (earth balance butter (
use less), and
daiya cream
cheese), as well as a flax egg instead of a real egg, and they turned out great!

If you ever plan to go vegan, I would recommend Boca or
Daiya for that because Morningstar
uses cheese and eggs in a lot of their products.
I like the
Daiya products I've had so far, but haven't
used the cream
cheese yet.
