This is my first recipe
using Psyllium seed husks.

uses psyllium seed husk (only 1 and 1/2 T. in the recipe).

Psyllium fiber comes from the
seed of the
husk of plantago ovata, also called plantago isphagula, and is mainly present in bulk laxatives but now is also
used as a non-systemic cholesterol - lowering agent.
I didn't have pectine so I tried
using about 2T of
psyllium seed husk.
The stickiness from the ground chia
seeds and water mixture permitted me to make these spinach muffins from my homemade gluten - free flour without
using any xanthum gum, guar gum, or
psyllium husk.
Christina, i don't have
psyllium husks either, so i was googling around for substitutions, and apparently you can
use an equal amount of ground flax or chia
seeds, but you will also need to increase the amount of warm water you add.
Can I
use ground chis
seeds instead of
psyllium husk?
I
use a quarter - to a half - teaspoon
psyllium seed husk powder (believe it or not) as a substitute.
I
used King Arthur GF flour, and added 1/4 cup of
psyllium husks and a few tablespoons of flax
seeds.
Oh lovely burgers... But egg, will
use flax
seed or
psyllium husk in some water, perfect chewy and yummy!
If you do not have / want to buy / are allergic to
psyllium husk powder, try
using flax or chia
seed -LSB-...]
I like to
use a combination of ground flax and chia
seeds because
psyllium husk, though absolutely amazing, doesn't care for me much either.
Do you think instead of the
psyllium husk you can
use ground flax
seeds?

This recipe only
uses an assortment of
seeds and nuts and then binds it together with
psyllium husk powder.
I have
used the
psyllium husk seeds for this recipe, if you
use the powder version just make sure to add a little less.

seed meal (16 g / 0.6 oz) instead of 1 egg + 1/4 cup coconut milk or heavy whipping cream + 1 tsp
psyllium husk powder.
