If you want to omit or
use a vanilla protein powder, feel free to do so.
You don't have to
use the vanilla protein powder, although I think it adds structure to the finished cake.
If
you use a vanilla protein powder, you may require less maple syrup or you can leave it out all together.
Just note that reducing the peanut butter will reduce the flavor, so it would be good to
use vanilla protein powder instead of unflavored, or adding vanilla extract.
This is yet another recipe that
uses both vanilla protein powder and Siggi's yogurt, but I assure you the result will be nothing short of euphoric, not to mention anabolic.
If you don't have this particular brand, you can
use any vanilla protein powder you have on hand (whey, whey - casein blend, or vegan), just be aware it may change the texture and flavor somewhat.
