You do actually have to book it to travel (preferably
using a miles card!).
The bad thing about spending points for flights like this is the value of your rewards drops, you get much less than you would have gotten if you just
used a miles card such as the Delta / AMEX card.
I only
use my miles card (and managed to fly for free once to my favourite Yerevan, Armenia)-RRB- but I can see there're so many more opportunities to earn cheap flights!
