I chose to
use high - contrast
black and white prints, most of which came from my stash (a current requirement for all of my projects).
From the engagingly delightful trompe d'oeil bow
print rug to the chic
black and white damask fabric
used judiciously throughout, this natty, beautiful room is the sort of bedchamber I could so easily imagine adorning my home with.
Pure
White Chalk Paint Red latex paint (I already had it, otherwise I wouldn't have
used latex) Modern Masters gold metallic paint Purdy paint brush FrogTape for delicate surfaces (my favorite for painting projects) Yardstick This stencil (I only
used the crown) Overhead projector for transferring the «Telephone» graphic (created in PicMonkey
and printed onto clear transparency paper) Sharpies for outlining the letters
and black paint for filling in the letters
I
used picmonkey.com to change the photos from color to
black and white, then
printed them on my home printer.
Their usual cinematographer, Roger Deakins, shot the film in color — they were contractually obligated to have a color version for overseas

and the result is a deep, rich interplay between light
and dark.
