The idea is to target players
using bravery attacks to decrease their lethality, and build up your own to unleash devastating HP attacks that eliminate players.
To damage enemies players must
use bravery attacks to build up power and break creatures» defenses.
While these attacks are great for slowly wearing away an enemy, if you are really looking to finish off your opponent in style, you can
use Bravery attacks, which are mapped to the circle button.

using a combination of both
bravery and hit
attacks, you can unlock your character's potential while causing steady damage to your opponent.
An EX Break is performed by stopping an opponent's EX Mode through the
use of an Assist
attack which forces the opponent out of EX Mode, additionally passing the stage's
Bravery points to the player.
Collect enough of these
bravery points and you'll be able to enter «Ex» mode, which allows your character to change class,
use special weapons, and land devastating special
attacks.
When
used on enemies he is not targeting, the skill is Steal and allows him to gain items that give health or
bravery, but when
used on targeted opponents his Mug ability takes an item that allows him to perform a powerful
attack.
As with streamlined systems, you can not choose which
Bravery or HP
attack your character will
use when in «Fight» or «Finisher» mode, but the AI does tend to make fairly good decisions in regards to this.
Using HP
attacks will reset the player's
Bravery back to zero, forcing then to perform more Brave
attacks before they can directly
attack their opponent again.
