As the image below illustrates, there has been a significant shift towards
using chopped dates.

I used chopped dates and pistachios in place of the cranberries and almonds.
I used chopped dates which I think were too dry to allow the mixture to stick together.
Here are some of our recipes developed by our Technical and Innovation team, showing how to
use chopped dates in cereals: Date Granola Bars, Apple, Cranberry and Nut Granola, and Orange and Date Flapjack Bars.
Not exact matches
I made these today but had to substitute a few ingredients as I didn't have everything — I
used dried prunes instead of
dates,
chopped almonds and hazelnuts instead of the sunflower seeds and vegetable oil instead of coconut oil.
I
used canned great northerns and subbed
dates in for apricots, dried blueberries for raisins, and
chopped walnuts for the pumpkin seeds.
I
used normal
dates, and I found that if you
chop them up small and place them in the food processor with the hot kumera for a few minutes, the hot kumera actuallly softens them so they blend nicely.
I wanted to
use up the almond pulp left over from making milk so I decided to add a cupful of finely
chopped dates, some grated coconut, a dash of maple syrup, vanilla, & about a tablespoon of cacao; I
used the blender so added a bit of wáter & a Little of the almond milk too......... made a fabulous mousse - like mixture!
For
chopping dates and anything dry, make sure you're
using a food processor rather than a blender as a blender really needs a liquid in order to work!
The second time I soaked the
dates in boiling water to soften them and then I just
used a blender stick to blend the
dates with sweet potato and maple syrup (much easier than a processor) I also made a budget version and
used regular cocoa powder, 1/2 honey 1/2 maple syrup, no pinenuts - just 1/2 cup of coconut flour and 1/2 cornflour, I also added
chopped walnuts.
I also
used honey instead of maple as I don't have any in at the moment and chucked in about 5 - 6
chopped up
dates.
However, I improvised by
using a potato masher, and
chopping the
dates finely with a sharp knife.
I made these muffins
using Banana Bench Pressed Oats — a «cereal blend» here in the UK that contains oats,
chopped dates, and banana flakes.
Not overly sweet and it's relatively sugar free with the Stevia.What you will need for this recipe: 1/2 Cup Stevia Baking Blend (I
used NuNaturals Fiber Blend brand) 1/2 Cup High Quality Cocoa Powder 1 1/4 Cup Organic Whole Wheat Flour 1 Cup
Chopped Dates soaked in 1 Cup Boiling Water (reserve soak water) 1/2 Cup
Chopped Walnuts 3 Tbs.
If you want to make these muffins but don't have access to Bench Pressed Oats though, you can always just
use regular rolled oats + some vanilla whey + / - some
chopped dates or your sweetener of choice.
If you
use larger pieces like apricots or
dates, I'd recommend
chopping them into smaller pieces.

after doing a little research on how to
use a
date in a recipe, i narrowed my options down to making a
date - paste (which is similar to agave), soaking the
dates in hot water for hours (no thanks ~ i'd like cookies sooner rather than later), or
chopping them up in the food processor (sign me up).

chop the apricots and, if not
using pieces, the
dates.
And then I
used a couple
chopped dates since I didn't have raisins, and it turned out great!

used your recommended cardamom, added the
dates, 1 grated apple, 1

I simply
used a cup of hard
dates and then about 1/2 cup of
chopped pecans instead of the add ins.

Dates can be a little vexing to
chop into pieces (and I don't like those «
date pieces» they sell, because they are mixed with flour and are kinda dry) so I
use scissors to carefully snip them.
Combine the freshly brewed coffee, and coconut milk in a small pot, and add the rinsed quinoa, the
chopped date if
using, a dash of vanilla extract, and optionally a dash of coconut extract.
I
used a blend of coconut and buckwheat flours, added in
chopped dates, extra carrots, extra extra pecans and a little extra maple syrup, milk and vanilla extract (as the batter became a bit too sticky to work with).
You could
use either
date syrup or maple syrup in this recipe, I
used maple syrup and then added the
chopped dates to the batter.

I
used to put a few
chopped dates in my mine, the texture it gave was just YUM.
Excellent - I
used substituted light brown sugar for half of the dark brown sugar and
used chopped pecans instead of
dates in the filling.
It is just 2 cups of cooked quinoa (slightly cooled), mixed with 3 egg yolks and 1 cup of
chopped pecans (or other nut as you prefer, or even
dates for a bit is sweetness) and then stir in 200g of melted dark chocolate (I like 70 %, but you can
use any %, the darker the less sweet the cake is).
