Instead of adding
coffee, as my initial instinct, I decided to go back to the roots, and
use some ancient Mayan
flavorings, dating thousands of years ago, when the first chocolate drink was born.
Then for the
coffee flavor in our brownies we're
using instant
coffee powder.
Soak 12 oz of coarsely ground
coffee in 60 ounces of cool water for 12 hours, drain through a filter and enjoy an incredibly strong but amazingly smooth
coffee that you can
use as a concentrate — you'll
use less in a smoothie like this since a little goes a long way
flavor wise.
This delicious chocolate and
coffee smoothie includes ice cubes, milk, brewed
coffee, peanut butter or almond butter, banana, chocolate
flavored protein powder and unsweetened cocoa powder (if you have cacao,
use that).
I've found when I
use quinoa flour in recipes that have a strong
flavor base (like chocolate or
coffee), I can't taste the quinoa, but in more delicately
flavored recipes, you might want to consider toasting your quinoa flour.

I
use it in both my hot and iced
coffee and like the rich sorta mocha like
flavor it provides in my iced
coffee.
I added some
coffee for depth of
flavor, but feel free to just
use almond milk if you aren't a
coffee person.
I
use vanilla
flavored rice milk with 1 pack of stevia in a cup with a half teaspoon of instant decaf

I
used water, it wasn't enough chocolate
flavor for me... I don't know if maybe since I don't
use coffee maybe I will add a bit more chocolate.
But I do think for a
coffee lover like you, you could increase the amount of instant espresso in the recipe or
use a 1/2 teaspoon of
coffee extract to bump up the

If you really want an exaggerated
coffee flavor, I'd try
using coffee in place of the almond milk (still adding the vinegar) or replacing half of the milk with
coffee.

I love it but I have some notes - if you
use coffee in the cake part of the recipe instead of water, it will taste really
coffee - ish and really mutes the chocolate

For a stronger

I added other
flavors we are
used to seeing in many tea or
coffee houses in the states.
I remember reading somewhere once that «blooming» cocoa powder in hot water is a lot like brewing
coffee, since both come from beans, and that you could get a more nuanced chocolate
flavor by
using hot water in recipes like that.
However, if you don't have a mocha or
coffee flavored protein powder on hand, don't worry; you can
use a vanilla or chocolate
flavored plant - based protein and add some instant
coffee powder instead.
What about
using brewed pumpkin
flavored coffee instead of adding the pumpkin purée?
I
used my very favorite

This all means that if you have high - quality arabica beans able to produce a
coffee full of complex
flavors with only mild bitterness and you
use the correct brewing method, you will probably be able to enjoy the
coffee without sweeteners.
I did
use a slightly different base for the pancakes than the one in my first basic pancake recipe, though I can't tell you which is better because the chocolate and
coffee flavors made them hard to compare — texture-wise, however, both are quite fluffy and tasty.
I also tried a few sips of
coffee using Silk brand unsweetened vanilla
flavored almond milk and it really wasn't too bad!
Many chocolate desserts
use coffee to help bring out the
flavor more, so I thought why not?
