I would love to make a slipcover for a ottoman that I have
using the grain sack for the top portion.
By this post I have learned how to repair my cane chair by
using grain sack, instead of bringing it to the repair shop or throwing it on the garbage.
I used Grain Sack - colored milk paint from Miss Mustard Seed, and lem me just tell ya - the winner of the Most Un-Fun Thing In The World To Paint With A Paint Brush is definitely the cubby and drawer section of a secretary.

Hi Carrie, I always mention paint colour in my posts this one is Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in
Grain Sack and I
used wax on the body of the piece and Tung Oil on the top.
I
used white spray paint and then went over them with a
Grain Sack milk paint
using a dry brushing technique.
Probably
use milk paint so it can have some beautiful chippy goodness... Maybe Miss Mustard Seed's ironstone or
grain sack.
For the
grain sack stripes I
used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paintin the color Artissimo.
You could
use my tutorial for a
grain sack stamp, HERE if you plan to
use the same
grain sack pattern over and over.
As for the secretary itself, I ended up
using Miss Mustard Seed «s «Shutter Gray» milk paint on the outside of it, and I'm currently awaiting the arrival of some «

use on the inside of it.

Grain Sack mixed with some Bonding Agent...
I have
used homemade Chalk Paint for just about everything in my house including the repurposed cabinet in my recent pantry makeover and my spindle leg table with
grain sack stenciled top.

My favorite thing for this is the flat end of wooden skewers (I also
used the skewers to create my

I have some chairs that are road side saves... and I bought some drop cloth for these... I have found one thing that is fun about drop cloths... you can paint on them... I have painted stripes for a
grain sack look, I have also
used tea to stain them for more of a vinatage look... I love the pics with yur boys so very cute... they grow up so fast... Mine were less then 2 years apart....

sacks are not only strong and sturdy, but beautiful!
I love the
use of white pumpkins on this table along with
grain sack, nuts and dried hydrangeas.
I also wish I had picked something with pattern, however, the neutral
grain sack is versatile (why I picked it in the first place) and I
use throw pillows for a pop of color.
