I love all of your wonderful
old postcards, and the way you
used the ribbon roll is so pretty!
Remember the good
old days when you
used to travel the world, buying
postcards, handwriting lovely messages and mailing them to your loved ones back home?
They all present a poetic re-working of Greek popular tradition, which develops around three themes: KARAGIOZIS,
POSTCARDS of
old Athens, the EVIL EYE, a bead charm
used to guard against ill omen and bad luck.
Although they all reflect a tenant of the past (may it be my water bottle from yesterday or a
postcard of a 500
old painting) I try not to be too nostalgic about them, but rather to understand how I may
use paint and color to make all of them present and alive in my studio, and later on in the world in general.

Using vintage photographs,
old film stills,
postcards and book illustrations, John Stezaker makes collages that subvert their original imagery, creating unique and compelling works of art.

uses everything from social media to

uses a wide range of marketing techniques, from

postcards and flyers to a robust presence on Facebook and Pinterest, where he broadens a property's reach by «pinning» information about museums, schools, and local happenings alongside listings.
