It's an easy vegetable to incorporate into your diet, I add it to my smoothies and juices in the morning,
use it raw as the base of my salads, blend it into dips and sauté or steam it for quinoa,
rice and
pasta bowls.
It tastes amazing in a rainbow bowl with grilled peppers, sun - dried tomatoes, rocket and pomegranates; or as a dip for your crackers, sweet potato wedges or crudités;
used as a sauce for your
pasta; spread thickly on some sueprfood bread; stirred into some brown
rice with a little miso or eaten straight from the bowl with a spoon!
I
use brown
rice pasta, rather than ordinary
pasta, as it makes me feel better but my posts never tell you to do the same.
I
used smoked paprika as I didn't have any regular paprika left and also exchanged brown
rice pasta for chickpea
pasta.

pasta or veggies with

Pasta
To change things up, I've been
using rice as a base for what I would typically put together as a
pasta salad.
For gluten - free dairy free ranch
pasta salad, I
use non-GMO corn - based
pasta (conchiliette shown here), which I find holds its shape much better than
rice - based and quinoa varieties for
pasta salad.
However, here are two ways you could go with this: 1) the more reliable way would be to cook the
pasta separately, according to package directions, and then add it to the soup before serving, or 2) add it directly to the soup, and
use your judgment to determine when the noodles have cooked through — plan on at least 10 additional minutes — might be longer because of the brown
rice.
By
using spaghetti squash noodles in place of
pasta or
rice, you can create a much healthier dish with less Weight Watchers Points.

Quinoa is cooked in a similar manner to
rice and can be
used in many of the same types of dishes where you might usually
use pasta or
rice.
You can spread it on some toast or
use it as a
pasta sauce, you could even have it over
rice (i tried an highly recommend!)

Pasta
It is one of my favorite things to
use with
pasta but I have never tried it with
rice.
For this recipe I
used gluten free panko instead of regular bread crumbs and brown
rice pasta to make the whole dish gluten free.
I
use it for hot and cold sides, makes a mean
pasta salad as well as
used anywhere you might
use rice.
You may also
use sprouted
rice flour or sprouted wheat flour to make homemade
pasta.
I also had some Flour City
Pasta «Bon Vivant Orzo» I've been dying to try, so I decided to whip up a twist on ordinary Jambalaya
using that instead of
rice.
If you want to make sure you have lots of sauce to serve with
pasta or
rice, then I recommend
using two cans.
Use this delicious sauce on
pasta (my favorite is the quinoa / brown
rice noodles from Trader Joe's), vegetables, or as the base of a salad dressing.
If you can easily exclude these allergens if you
use pasta made from
rice and / or quinoa — these
pastas are usually egg free too, but check the label just in case.
But the
rice flour wrappers I
used instead of a gluten
pasta certainly adds to the healthy aspect of the dish.
Use our seasoning salt in place of common table salt to enhance the flavor of your favorite dishes such as
pasta, chicken, salads, vegetables, fish and
rice.
OK, here are some favorites we've been cooking up at my place: - vegetable curry (grind my own whole spices,
use whatever veggies we get in our weekly CSA share; radishes / beets, eggplant, squash, greens, etc)- quick kale (sauteed with coconut oil, chili flakes, garlic, [lemon grass], soy sauce, lemon juice)- pac choi w / sauteed mushrooms «chinese» style (with fish sauce,
rice wine vinegar, jalepeno / chili, soy sauce, etc)- roasted radishes w / poached eggs - «teamwork
pasta» — this is your recipe for pepper and cheese
pasta, but it helps having two sets of hands to make it in our house... we put an egg on this too of course - tuna
pasta (chopped onion, garlic, lemon zest, chili flakes, tuna, olives — easily adaptable to what you already have in the house and like)- roast chicken on friday - roasted sweet potatoes - omlets - challa french toast
I never think to
use pasta as a side dish, I also always fall back on
rice.

used cauliflower florets instead of apples — I've seeing a lot of recipes
using cauliflower for

pasta, and right now dessert!
Normally, I would have
used chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans), brown
rice or some type of
pasta, but was pleasantly surprised that the cannellini beans worked so well in my vegan minestrone soup I've been wanting to share.
