Carol Bove's silkscreen print The Sun (2008) is based on a string drawing, and is printed
using saffron.
I did grow up with a Spanish version of cabbage rolls
using saffron and other spices... and they are so good.
I made it exactly as written, even
using the saffron and preserved lemons, for a dinner party.
Also there are many additional variations of this recipe
some use saffron some do not, I do not know if this is because it's hard to get or not.
I use saffron so sparingly I am glad I finally found a great use for it!

used saffron to colour it.

Another way to
use saffron to lighten the skin is soaking it in olive oil, almond oil or coconut oil and massaging it on your face.

using my favourite spice, and my kitchen was suffused with the aroma of
saffron.

Saffron, a very special and expensive spice, is
used in a variety of Scandinavian baked goods, especially during Christmastime.
I found the mayonnaise to be plenty flavorful... Lizbeth, you might try
using a bit more
saffron next time, or try a different brand.
Instead I
used cumin (per recommendations of previous reviewers) and
saffron.
I
used boneless skinless chicken thighs,
saffron (instead of turmeric), 1/2 - 3/4 t ground cumin, 1/2 - 3/4 t ground ginger, 2 whole cinnamon sticks and also included the flesh of some of the preserved lemons.
Basically, I
use 5 medium sized carrots 1/2 cup skim milk, 3/4 cup or so honey, 10 strands of
saffron (can omit), 1/2 tsp.
Add the salt, the yeast, and the
saffron if you're
using it and process for 5 seconds.
Using a pastry brush, evenly brush the
saffron milk all over the shaped dough.

saffron is hard to come by, this gives you the option of
using turmeric instead.
I wanted my rice to be similarly golden - hued but
used turmeric instead of
saffron, bumping up the Middle Eastern flavours with cumin and coriander.
