The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, for example, received more than four times its
usual number of applications owing to cuts in NIH spending on breast cancer research, according to Paula Witt - Enderby, a researcher at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and a member of the charity's
grant review panel.
